asperia, I should imagine that this was broadcast on Radio 3 last February and would then have been available on BBC Radio 3 online for 7 days thereafter, so unfortunately, it’s highly likely that it’s not available any more. Let’s hope that the next recital in Paris, coming up soon next month will also be broadcast on radio 3 at some point afterwards – we’ll have to keep a lookout for the date – I’ll be checking in the Radio Times.

can i ask where this was broadcast? was it online ?

Does somebody know whether Simon´s Macbeth will be broadcast on BBC3?

I attended this performance and although I am very familiar with Simon’s opera performances, over the last 6 or 7 years, this was the first time I had caught a recital. What a priviledge it was.
He seemed to me to be a little ill at ease (not vocally) during the Faure but by the Ravel he was relaxed and gave a wonderfully expessive account of these delightful songs.
After the break, and an announcement to ask the audience not to applaud between each song, we were treated to, for me, a quite overwhelming performance of the Dichterliebe. Stunning! Then 5 encores; Schumann, Brahms and 3 Schubert, as an extra treat.
With Malcolm Martineau’s subtle and sensitive piano playing they both had us all in the palms of their hands.
