Arrived home a short while ago from watching today’s live relay at Salisbury Arts Centre (UK) of the Met’s Don Giovanni. Well acted and sung by all the cast. Good to hear Simon in fine voice. Don’t understand the critical reviews of the staging. I don’t want to be distracted from the performances. For me it provided an ideal backdrop and evoked the buildings and alleyways one would expect in a Spanish town of the time.
